10 Must Have Features For Your Website

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

You can put any number of snazzy features on your website. If you ever meet with a web design firm, your sure to hear about all the cool scripts, animations and other interactive add-ons that can go on your pages. Some pizzazz isn't a bad thing, especially if you're just starting out and need to set yourself apart from the competition. Interactive features and a well designed website give you an air of competence and experience, even if your online business is brand new.

But the website features that count toward your bottom line are the ones that attract and retain customers and entice them back to you regularly. Along with the bells and whistles, your business home on the web needs to have some basic must-haves that shoppers expect. Make sure that your site meets the minimum daily requirements: it needs to be easy to find, loaded with content, include content and background information about you, and include features that make shopping (if that's what you do) easy and secure. This article describes ten specific features that help you achieve these objectives.

Secure East-to-Remember URLs.

Names are critical to the success of any business. A name becomes identified with a business, and people associate the name with its products and its level of customer service. When a small company developed a software product called Lindows, giant Microsoft sued initially, but eventually paid million to stop the infringement on its well-known trademarked product Windows.

Write down five or six names that are short and easy to remember and that would represent your business if included in an URL. Do a domain name search and try to find the one you want. Try to keep your site's potential name as short and as free of elements like hyphens as possible. A single four-to ten-character name between the www. and the .com or .co.uk sections of the URL is easy to remember.

Provide a Convenient Payment Method

Shoppers go online for many reasons, but those reasons don't include a desire for things to be complex and time consuming. No matter how technically complex it may be to get one's computer on the internet, shoppers still want things to be quick and seamless. At the top of the list of seamless processes is the ability to pay for merchandise purchased online.

You don't have to get a merchant account from a bank to process your own credit-card payments. You don't need to get point-of-sale hardware, either. The other day, Greg paid for a heater from a company that sent him to PayPal's website. PayPal began as an independent company, but it became so popular among members of the auction site eBay that eBay eventually purchased it. Chances are that many of your prospective customers already have accounts with PayPal if they use eBay. Greg did, so his purchase process was completed in less than a minute. Set yourself up as a seller with PayPal and accept money orders & personal cheques. If you can take the additional step of getting a eCommerce website and a credit-card payment system, so much the better.

Promote Security, Privacy, and Trust

Even shoppers who have been making purchases online for years at a time still feel uncertainty when they type their credit-card number and click a button labelled Pay Now, Purchase or Submit to a commercial website. We're speaking from personal experience. What promotes trust? Information and communication. Shoppers online love getting information that goes beyond what they can find in a printed catalogue. Be sure to include one or more of the following details that can make shoppers feel good about pressing your Buy Now buttons:

* An endorsement from an organization that is supposed to promote good business practices, such as investors in people, business in the community, or by your own customers.

* A privacy statement that explains how you're going to handle customers' personal information.

* Detailed product descriptions that show you're knowledgeable about a product.

Another good thing that promotes trust is information about who you are and why you love what you do, as described in the 'Blow Your Own Trumpet' section, later in this chapter.

Choose Goods & Services That Buyers Want

Every merchant would love to be able to read the minds of his or her prospective customers. On the internet, you have as much chance of reading someone's mind as you have of meeting that person face to face. Nevertheless, the internet does give potential buyers several ways to tell you what they want:

* Come right out and ask them. On your website, invite requests for merchandise of one sort or another.

* After a purchase, ask customers for suggestions about other items they'd like to buy from you.

* Visit message boards, newsgroups, and websites related to the item you want to sell.

* Make a weekly (remember that Saturdays & Sundays are the best days for auctions to end) search of eBay's completed auctions to see what has sold, and which types of items have fetched the highest prices.

Have a Regular Influx of New Products

With a printed catalogue, changes to sales items can be major. The biggest problem is the need to physically reprint the catalogue with inventory changes. One of the biggest advantages associated with having an online sales catalogue is the ability to alter your product line in a matter of minutes, without sending artwork to a printer. You can easily post new sales items online each day, as soon as you get new sales figures.

One reason to keep changing your products on a regular basis is that your larger competitors are doing so. Lands' End, which has a well-designed and popular online sales catalogue, puts out new products on a regular basis and announces them in an email newsletter to which loyal customers can subscribe.

Be Current with Upkeep & Improvements

Do you have a favourite blog, comic strip, or newspaper columnist that you like to visit each day? We certainly do. If these content providers don't come up with new material on a regular basis, you get discouraged. Your loyal customers will hopefully feel the same way about your website, eBay shop or other sales venue.

We know what you're thinking: You've got so many things to do that you can't possibly be revisiting your website every day and changing headings or putting new sales online. You have to get the kids off to school, pack up merchandise, run to the post office, clean the house - the list goes on and on. You can't be in two places at once. But two people can. Hire a student or friend to run your site and suggest new content for you. In a five-minute phone conversation, you can tell your assistant what to do that day, and you can go on to the rest of your many responsibilities.

Personally Interact with Your Customers

The fact that personal touch counts for so much in internet communication is a paradox. With rare exceptions, you never meet face to face with the people with whom you exchange messages. Maybe it's the lack of body language and visual clues that make shoppers and other web surfers so hungry for attention. But the fact is that impersonal, mass email marketing messages are reviled while quick responses with courteous thank-you's are eagerly welcomed.

You can't send too many personal email messages to your customers, even when they're only making and enquiry and not a purchase. Not long ago, Greg asked some questions about a heater he was thinking of buying online. He filled out the form on the company's website and submitted his questions. The representative of the company got right back to him.

'First of all, let me thank you for your interest in our product,' the letter began. She proceeded to answer his questions and then finished with another thank-you and 'if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.' Greg didn't hesitate: 'He asked more questions, she answered and again said, 'Don't hesitate to ask' at the end. It's possible it was all 'form letter' material, added to the beginning and end of every enquiry, but it makes a difference. Greg eventually purchased the item.

Post Advertisements in the Right Places

When most people think about advertising on the internet, they automatically think about banner advertisements placed on someone else's web page. A banner advertisement is only one kind of online ad, and possibly the least effective. Make use of all the advertising options going online brings you, including the following:

* Use word of mouth: Bloggers use this method all the time: one person mentions something in another blog, that blogger mentions it to someone else, and so on.

* Exchange links: 'You link to my website, and ill link to yours', in other words. This option is especially effective if you're linking to a business whose products and services complement your own.

* Multiply Websites: if you have two websites, you immediately have two sites linking to each one of yours. Your ability to exchange links with other websites triples, too.

* Get listed in search engines: Make sure that your site is listed in the databases maintained by Google and the other search engines.

Blow Your Own Trumpet

Sam Walton founded Wal-Mart, and the Walton family still runs it, but 99 percent of the shoppers who flock to megastores every day don't know or care about that fact. Wal-Mart is a well-established brand with a physical Presence. Your fledgling online business has neither of those advantages. You need to use your website to provide essential background information about yourself, why you started your business, and what your goals are.

Your immediate aim is to answer the question that naturally arises when a consumer visits your online business: 'Who are these people?' or 'who is this guy?' The indirect goal is to answer a question that the shopper doesn't necessarily ask consciously, but that is present nonetheless: 'Why should I trust this place?' Be sure to list your experience, your background, your family, or your hobbies - anything to reassure online shoppers that you're a reputable person who is looking out for their interests.

Create a Well-Organized Website

A well-organised website isn't quite as essential as it used to be, because you can establish a regular income on eBay without having any website at all. But even if you become a well-established eBay seller, you're going to want a website at some point or another. How do you make your site well organised? Make sure that your site incorporates these essential features:

* Navigation buttons: consumers who are in a hurry expect to see a row of navigation buttons along the top or one of the sides of your homepage. Don't make them hunt; put them there.

* A Site Map: A page that leads visitors to all areas of your site can prevent them from going elsewhere if they got lost.

* Links that actually work: Nothing is more frustrating than clicking a link that's supposed to lead to a photo and/or a bit of information that you really want, and to come up with a generic page not found error message

* Links that indicate where you are on the site: such links are helpful because, like a trail of breadcrumbs, they show how the customer got to a particular page. Heres an example:

Clothing > Men's > Sportswear > Shoes > Running

When your site grows to contain dozens of pages and several main categories, links that look like this can help people move up to a main category and find more subcategories.

So there I have given you information on the 10 must-have features for your website, follow these simple rules and you will have a website which customers will love, and a website which over-time will grow and achieve the goals you set out to achieve. good luck with your web site's and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me or leave me a comment.

Veterinarians' Favorite Picks For Vet PACS

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Busy veterinary offices and hospitals rely on multi-functional Vet PACS to help them get the most out of their Vet Digital X-ray systems. With an excellent PACS, the veterinary office has a quick and easy way to not only view and store digital medical images in dicom format, but they also can distribute those digital images over the Internet, saving money and time as well as enhancing their office workflow and productivity.

When it comes to Vet PACS, there are several top manufacturers that offer superior PACS systems. Candelis and Viztek are two trusted names in medical digital technology, and both offer outstanding PACS systems. Candelis offers a PACS that gives fast access to digital dicom images and is simple to use. Rule-based routing makes it possible to automatically send patient digital images to consulting physicians on the local or wide area network, or on a VPN or SSL.

Viztek makes available a web-based PACS system that functions as a diagnostic viewer and provides doctors with integrated reporting with dictation and transcription, on-call digital image delivery to workstations located on- or off-site, and allows a platform for the web, PACS and RIS to work together seamlessly. Storage of digital medical images is also made easy with both systems. Dicom images may be saved to CD or DVD, or sent to a database on- or off-site, to offer you the flexibility you need for performing the necessary work at your veterinary clinic or hospital.

Your PACS hardware and software will work in conjunction with your Vet X-ray system. Digital image capture systems include Vet CR and Vet DR units. Both CR and DR images can be used in mobile digital imaging situations that commonly occur with veterinary practices. Several systems are available that are lightweight and easily transportable so that you can get the images you need of your patients without the hassle of bringing the animals in to your home clinic. With wireless Internet and a laptop computer, you can have a workstation in your mobile unit that will allow you to view the digital images and send then online to your home office for further evaluation and storage.

Although PACS systems were once costly, with today's new computer technologies the prices for PACS have come down, so much so that now smaller veterinary offices can afford the power and efficiency that comes through using the most modern medical digital tools available.

Using Trick Photography, or Specifically the Tilt Shift Effect to Take Better Travel Photos

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

We all like to share our travel adventures with our family and friends by taking lots of photographs of the sights we see. However, we all tend to take photographs that are influenced by what we've seen before in travel magazines or postcards. This is simply because we like what we see and will try to recreate that shot when we are actually there. Why not add a twist to it and use trick photography to create something unconventional and interesting with the tilt shift special effect?

Tilt shift, faking miniatures, or diorama effect photos are fun and interesting. They make real-world objects look like miniatures, and give you a sense of how small we really are in this world. It's like looking at a small-scale model or diorama. Imagine if you are visiting the Colosseum in Rome, Italy and you climb up high to snap a great photo overlooking the entire structure. You then apply digital trickery to turn it into a tilt shift photo.

This is actually a fake tilt shift photograph because it's done digitally, and not in-camera. But the point is that you now have a "toy-version" photo of the Colosseum. Repeat this with the various landmarks and you have a great collection of toy landmarks photo to impress your family and friends. You can also give life to your "toy" landmarks by taking multiple tilt shift photos and combine them into an animated image file or video. Not only will you have more interesting stories to tell them about how you got the shot, but your photos are likely to be more interesting than others!

It used to be that to create these tilt shift effect photos you need a special tilt shift lens that attach to your camera. They are also called perspective control lens. Their main purpose wasn't to create miniature or diorama effects but to allow movement of the camera lens independent of the camera film or sensor. This is used by photographers to avoid convergence of parallel lines, so when you photograph a tall building from the ground the base of the building is the same as the top of the building. You see this used a lot in architectural photographs to avoid parallel lines converging to create a distorted look.

When you tilt the lens, you also produce a wedge-shaped depth of field. When you snap a photo from high ground looking below with this wedge-shaped depth of field, the photograph appears with the tilt-shift, miniature, or diorama effect. In fact, although it's called the tilt-shift effect, shifting of the lens is not really used to achieve it. The good news is that you don't need this special and expensive piece of equipment to create this tilt shift special effects.

Modern camera technology has moved on and you now have unprecedented freedom to create photographs with these special effects. Technology has simplified everything so all you need is a photo taken from a high ground overlooking a wide area and a wedge-shaped depth of field. The simplest method to do this is to take the photos and upload them onto your computer with Photoshop. You can then either manually apply the depth of field by selectively blurring certain areas of the photos or use a software plug-in to automatically do it for you.

The best camera is the one you always have with you. If you have a modern smart phone you could even create these trick photography and special effects by downloading certain applications dedicated to the tilt shift special effect. You take a photo, fire up the application to digitally insert the special effects and then share it with the world.

Personal Reviews Between Vista 32bits and 64bits

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

What's the difference between Vista 32bits and 64bits? If Vista 64bits is installed in 64bits computer, could the applications and games of 32bits also be installed in it?

To general users are certain to consider that since the current Windows of 32bits Edition is very good, why do they upgrade it to 64bits? Moreover, it will cost a lot of money for the incompatibility between 32bits hardware and 64bits hardware (mostly CPU and mainboard). However, what's the advantage of 64bits? Is it necessary for general users to upgrade system to 64bits?

The original intention of design for Windows Vista x64 Edition is not only to meet the demand of large memories in the fields of mechanical design and analysis, three-dimensional animation, video edit and creation, scientific computing, high performance computational applications, etc, but also to satisfy the requirements from the users of floating-point performance.

The 64bits computational performance embodies predominance in the fields of auto and airplane design, because it allows engineers to set up larger and more complicated models. Under the help of this system, engineers could use simulation software to analyze airflow, pressure and effect of auto and plane materials when heated, and then they could research and improve product design according to the results. Similarly, by 64bits computing, digit content originator (including three-dimensional animation designers, digital artists, and game developer) may greatly lessen the time of displaying three-dimensional model by digit methods. In the scope of scientific computing and high performance computing, Windows Vista x64 Edition is useful to the applications: oil and natural gas exploration, earthquake analysis, computing hydrokinetics, scientific visualization, etc.

To users who have reached the memory limit of 32bits system, Windows Vista x64 Edition could use AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon which supports SM64T, and Intel Pentium 4 which supports EM64T as the service platforms. Owing to the main difference between 32bits and 64bits computing of Windows XP is that 64 Edition can use more system memory, Windows Vista x64 Edition will initially support not less than 128 GB memory and 16-TB virtual memory. In the future, with the expansion of hardware function, the sustaining physical memory will increase correspondingly. Access speed of memory data is thousands times as the access speed on disk drive, in this way, it could greatly improve the application performance used in this more tremendous system memory.

The developer, with 32bits Windows skills, can comfortably and efficiently set up next application applied in Windows Vista x64 Edition. The developer will find this development environment is almost the same as Windows development environment of 32bits, and the Application Programming Interface (API) of Microsoft Win64 is the same as Microsoft Win32 API. Current API has been modified in the necessary places, which could make them reflect the precision on service platform. As a result, the program is simplified and learning curve of 64bits Windows code compiled by developers is shortened, which is just like programming 32bits Windows code.

Windows Vista x64 Edition could provide a single desktop to technique application and operation application, therefore, users of technique workstation needn't maintain PC for the operation application; at the same time, they could maintain individual workstation for vertex technology application. Most compatible 32bits applications in Windows will be operated "in former way" in subsystem (its performance is equal to 32bits Windows) of Windows Vista x64 Edition.

Windows Vista x64 Edition system could be added into the current network based on Windows, and could be administered with 32bits system by the same management tool, so the IT department could work more comfortably. The overhead costs of maintenance and management are reduced hereby.

Defining Social Algorithm

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

The word social is currently in vogue, we have social networking, social software, social bookmarking, and now social algorithm. Social networking is the activity, social software are the tools which make social networking possible, but what is a social algorithm?

The following tries to define what a social algorithm is.

Social Networking.

Let us look at the examples. Famous social networking sites include Flickr, YouTube, MySpace, Friendster, Wikipedia, Facebook, del.icio.us and the the virtual gaming world of Second Life. Bookmarking and tagging are considered social network activities. The purpose of the network is for people to rendezvous, collaborate, or just sharing something (photos, music, movies, information, etc).

Social Software.

Social software are the tools which make it possible for people to network. These range from email, mailing lists, RSS, IRC, instant messaging, Napster like P2P, blogs, wikis, AJAX, Web 2, etc. Their characteristic is that the networking must be interactive, and bottom-up (users provide content). These software used to be called group-ware. Some of these software are quite old, but some others like blogs are more recent. Wikis have been around ever since Ward Cunningham, the father of Wiki started it, but it was then considered for geeks only, and have been accepted widely only in the last couple of years. Some software are documented using wikis, and businesses, educational institutions have started to make use of it.

Algorithms.

So, what is a social algorithm? An algorithm is like a cooking recipe or computer program with step-by-step instructions to execute a procedure. Algorithms are stated in pseudo-code, easy for people to understand, and are more abstract than computer programs. The programs are said to implement some algorithm, being a machine level translation of the pseudo-code.

Although most algorithms are numerical, they need not be, as shown in cooking recipes, logical unification algorithm, string matching, face recognition, etc.

Agent based.

Social algorithms differs from general algorithms in that they involve agents, and the algorithm is the result of the interaction of the agents. The ant colony algorithm is an example, with ants as the agents, and used to solve some problem, such as the shortest path or the traveling salesman problem. Social algorithms can used for distributed problem solving as the ant colony algorithm, but need not be.

It is said that Google's PageRank algorithm is the decisive factor for Google to win the battle of the web. The PageRank algorithm ranks websites using many criteria, including the number of inbound links, each with a weight which is the PageRank of the referring site (the algorithm is recursive and almost real-time).

To have an idea of the algorithm, here is a description:

The original PageRank algorithm was described by Lawrence Page and Sergey Brin in several publications.

It is given by

PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + ... + PR(Tn)/C(Tn))

where
PR(A) is the PageRank of page A,
PR(Ti) is the PageRank of pages Ti which link to page A,
C(Ti) is the number of outbound links on page Ti and
d is a damping factor which can be set between 0 and 1.

Since PageRank defines ranking of sites in a search, it affects many things, and in the last analysis, many people who derive income from the sites. Hence people, who are the agents here, try to modify their site parameters to increase their ranks. This is commonly known as SEO: search engine optimization.

This is an example where the algorithm provides rules for the social network, and in so doing modifies the agents behavior or actions. Abuse of the algorithm have occurred, in one case, someone builds websites based on (almost) links only with no content, but manages to get a high PageRank. Such anomalies will be probably be taken care of, as the PageRank algorithm is also evolving.

Internet auctions and reverse auctions such as provided by EBay, are also algorithms which provide the rules of the game, where we are the players.

Digg.com is a social bookmarking site, the original suggestion is given 1 digg, and people can digg again if they like the suggestion, or undug it if they don't. The number of diggs in indicative of the suggestion's popularity. This system will favor groups of people who collaborate to digg each other suggestions.

We see that social algorithms have weaknesses, often exploited by certain people. Hence the need for improving social algorithms.

Netflix is a famous case, they have offered one million dollars to anyone who can improve the accuracy of their existing algorithm by 10%.

Non human players and avatars.

Back to the definition of social algorithm as a multi-agent based algorithm, where the agents are people, we feel that this definition must be enlarged to include cases where people are substituted by animals or software surrogates. I would consider a simulation of the Digg algorithm, or a simulation of market trading using intelligent agents as social algorithms. So is the ant colony algorithm, which substitutes animals for people. Likewise swarms, flocks, etc.

Cellular automata is a border case, it is agent based all right, but often used to simulate physical, and chemical processes. If use to mimic human activity, it would be a social algorithm.

The evolution algorithm as an abstraction of the Darwinian process is also a social algorithm.
Genetic algorithms and its variations are included here.

Evolutionary Game Theory.

The field of social algorithms intersects with evolutionary game theory. Game theory studies strategies use by the agents, for example in trading, auctions, marketing, voting etc. The prisoner's dilemma sets a game for 2 prisoners, but it can be iterated and played in a population, which then becomes a social algorithm.

If you have ever played Second Life, you know how complicated social algorithms can be. In the virtual world, the whole life, including economics, relations, and property, is defined by algorithms.

Using the Right Tools for Multimedia Graphics Design

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

The explosion of multimedia in our world today is mind-boggling. Multimedia graphics, animation and interactive flash are everywhere, from television, the internet, computer and video games, to billboards, and even your mobile phones.

This in turn is boosting the demand for professionals in the multimedia and graphics industry. Positions available in the industry are wide ranging, including multimedia/graphics designer, flash designer, photo editor and illustrator.

Each of these roles requires a certain set of skill sets to marry creativity and technology.
To be truly successful, you need to keep abreast of the latest computer software available. These applications will give you the edge in using the right tools for the right job.

Some of the most widely used multimedia and graphics design software in the industry today include:

- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Photoshop
- Apple QuickTime Pro
- CorelDRAW!
- Macromedia Dreamweaver
- Macromedia Flash
- Macromedia Freehand
- Microsoft FrontPage
- Microsoft Publisher
- QuarkXpress

Training for these applications are widely available from the vendors, their authorized training centers, local computer training schools, on DVDs or even on the internet.

Classroom training offers tremendous advantages, as a trainer is available for the duration of the course to answer questions or provide additional real-life case studies or insights.

However, more and more people are now turning to online training programs that offer the convenience of learning from their desktop anytime, anywhere. The key advantage of online training is that the programs are divided into multiple, short lessons such that only one software feature is taught for a 5-minute training segment.

For instance, a 2-hour training program on Photoshop will be divided into various categories such as Brush Tools, Color Adjustments, Effects, Vector Tools, and Filters. Each category is then further divided into various individual lessons on the key features or functions.

As the learner, you get greater flexibility. You can focus only on the specific features that you need to use for a particular design job on a particular day, giving you the ultimate "on-the-job" training.

Find out more about online training on multimedia and graphics design software at www.multimediagraphicsdesign.com [http://www.multimediagraphicsdesign.com/]

Is the Answer to Our Social Networking Needs More Marketing Software Or Niche Networking Sites?

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

The kind of people who can come up with social networking marketing software to help you build your business online are beyond me, I have to admit. We can thank them for unlocking all sorts of techniques and processes to be able to communicate with people from around the world via social networking sites. Combining an entire set of programs, procedures and related documentation associated with a system to develop social networking software for marketing purposes is an immense task and one which we can all benefit from. But is the answer to our social networking needs marketing software? This article will provide the answer to that question.

The customers of software development typically know what they want as an end result, but not what the software should do in the process. What we have seen emerging in the past decade has been fresh, creative and dynamic, as individual social networking sites have offered their own uniqueness and demanded a range of software to aid the marketing process.

While Facebook, MySpace and Twitter are very popular and have a variety of software tools and appliances to assist you in your marketing efforts, LinkedIn and Plaxo and other more professional sites need a different type of tool to help you automate some of your tasks and make your daily interactions less time consuming. So now we can all run around making noise and adding friends, followers and acquaintances waiting for that illusive social media derived sale.

But here's the dilemma; how long can we go on adding thousands of friends on Facebook, tens of thousands of followers on Twitter and a few hundred more on MySpace without losing track of who we know and where our business is going before we ask the question;

If the tool isn't meeting the market place maybe the market place should meet the tool. Here's the answer;

Individual social marketing sites developed for specific causes, interests and industry niche focuses. Sites for dog lovers, horse lovers and just barn animals are out there and to build your business effectively you need to start to use them. Social networking software has been built for job locating services, physician and dentistry and all types of sports as well as other niches prime for marketing activity.

Originally website developers, the people creating the social networking websites have seen an exponential growth in demand for marketing software in the past few years. It is certainly the way to promote, praise and bring forth a business, whether it is a long term brand or service, or something new. Social marketing software provides two way communications about something, and it looks like this type of online networking is here to stay. But is it the way forward?

I don't believe it is and here's my top three predictions for social networking across the coming decade;

1. The emergence of more niche social networking sites with smaller communities and shared interests.

2. Facebook providing an interest based bias in search results in the same way that Google provides local search results now.

3. Regional micro blogging platforms to make it easy to connect, interract and remain engaged with your followers tweets.

With this will of course emerge new marketing software to aid and assist us in our online efforts but the answer to Your success will be down to one single thing; how well you learn to connect on a personal level with your audience.

Picturesque Landscape Wallpapers For Desktop

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

When you work for more than 8 to 10 hours a day looking at the computer screen, it pays to have refreshing and creative desktop wallpaper. Landscape wallpapers are beautiful landscape pictures, landscape backgrounds and landscape images that have a higher resolution and better picture quality compared to average desktop backgrounds. Designs can range anywhere from abstract art, nature sights and even admirable vehicles. Landscape wallpapers are preferred by most computer users to give the eye rest; when they eyes are focused on something far away, it allows it to relax and rest which is often needed by people who work for longer hours looking at the computer monitor.

Think of landscape backgrounds as an alternative to going out and resting your eyes and mind a bit, the only difference is that you won't get a breath of fresh air! Here is some of the most admired landscape wallpapers ever downloaded online:

1. Nature landscape wallpapers - from the usual forest or tranquil water scenes to amazing castles, vast farms and lush green gardens are all available for you to download online. Whatever your favorite nature scene is or whatever country you are in, there is a landscape picture for your desktop.

2. Water landscape wallpapers - breath taking waterfalls, untouched beaches and romantic lakes are sure to make your eyes rest and relax. Beautiful water features are always admirable in every angle and if you are stuck in the office, you can dream your break away and plan your next vacation with these beautiful landscapes.

3. Animal landscape pictures - belonging in this category are your beloved pets: cats, dogs, fishes and small mammals. Aside from pets, there are landscape images of jungle animals, undersea creatures, birds in flight, creepy insects and even animals in the African wilderness. Popular T-Shirt Trends

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

T-shirts have been part of fashion since the 1920s and their design and use has gone through a number of different transformations. Styles have ranged from tight to loose, long to cropped and everything in between. The range of colours and designs that have been used for t-shirts over the years is even more varied. In fashion today, there seem to be a few different trends that are currently the most popular. These include:

Geek T-shirts

With the increasing popularity of social media, 'geek' t-shirts printed with slogans or images based on computer terminology seem to appear ever more rapidly. Whether they contain an image of a Facebook 'like' icon or a clever merging of a number of different platforms, geek t-shirts can be a fun and ironic way to portray the impact that social media is having on so many aspects of our lives.

Pop Culture T-shirts

These usually have a movie or television theme or may reference any part of wider popular culture such as music. Pop culture t-shirts can be ironic, political, humorous or promotional in essence and may often be based on cult television shows, performing artists and movies such as The Hangover. When it comes to pop culture t-shirts, there are a dazzling array of niches, from Japanese animation to 1980s David Hasselhoff and much more.

Vintage Inspired T-shirts

Vintage inspired t-shirts have retro themes and typefaces and often feature older popular television shows and iconic historical figures. From punk style designs to Miss Piggy from the Muppet Show, vintage t-shirts generally appeal to all ages and have a wide-ranging customer base.

Slogan T-shirts

Slogan t-shirts can be used as political tools, to raise environmental or ethical awareness, or just to make people laugh and can feature anything from one word slogans to obscenities and well-crafted political satire. There are even slogan t-shirts for babies!

Custom Designed T-shirts

The internet and modern printing and graphics technologies mean that designing and printing your own t-shirt is becoming more and more popular. With access to the appropriate software and printing hardware, many people can be a t-shirt designer from the comfort of their own home. Customised designs are a great way to ensure people can buy an entirely unique t-shirt and as a bonus they may often be cheaper than mass-produced t-shirts.

Of course many t-shirt trends are not set in stone. It is not uncommon to see a vintage inspired design with a slogan, or a popular television figure alongside technical jargon. T-shirts are nothing if not versatile and one of the great things about t-shirts is that they can encompass many different styles and combinations to produce whatever result you are looking for.

Aeria Games' System Requirements

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

In recent years, high-end downloadable free to play online games is a growing business and sub-category among passionate MMO gamers. Fly-for-Fun, EVE:ONline, Last Chaos, and others make up the list of games increasingly appealing to players with low budgets, but love for the MMO experience as much as paying players (such as Guild Wards, World of Warcraft and Everquest to name a few).

Equipped with a 2003-built machine, the author was able to find not only 8 games to play totally for free, but all from the same gaming portal site, Aeria Games. However, that is not to say, "Go to Aeria now!!" or other sales-like banter trying to speed new players to Aeria's already overflowing ranks of 12 million global members. Below is merely an account of what the author had to go through (or didn't) in order to enjoy an easily available portfolio of games with the least amount of trouble possible.

The author is the proud owner of a computer built around an ASUS P4P800 motherboard, mounted with a Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz processor, 1 Gigabyte of high-speed DDR-RAM, a GeForce 7800 AGP video card with 512 Megabytes of on-board video RAM, and a hard drive of several hundred Gigabytes (installed after a fatal crash in 2005). In addition, the author is fortunate to play his online games using a Broadband Internet connection in an apartment complex with few broadband subscribers.

Not being an expert on computer configurations, over-clocking, tweaking of hardware or other technical know-how to bend the limits of his machine, the author is nonetheless an avid MMO gamer. You should also know that the author is also not well to do enough to buy a newer machine. Despite this, the following test was made using an old Aeria Games account, sacrificing a few dozen Gigabytes of hard disk space, a hard disk clean up and 'defrag', and a week of simultaneous downloading of the company's leading games.

After successfully installing each game, the author proceeded to test which game(s) would run the fastest, which one(s) had difficulty, and which one(s) would not run at all. Here are the results:

Dream of Mirror Online ("DOMO")

  • Symptoms: No slowdown whatsoever, could run several (3) programs in the background of Windows (virus protection software, Bit Torrent downloads, etc.)
  • Verdict: Fine

Dynasty Warriors Online ("DWO")

  • Symptons: Will add this info when I d/l and play the game October 14~
  • Verdict: TBA

Grand Fantasia ("GF")

  • Symptoms: Slowdown when run on the maximum graphical settings, but improved greatly when set to medium/low settings
  • Verdict: Tolerable, but having too many things on-screen made it very slow for half-seconds, frequent deaths occurring mid-animation was frustrating.

Kingdom Heroes ("KH")

  • Symptoms: A lot of slowdown when run on max in-game visual settings, but turning off settings for distance rendering, water, model detail and environment animation relieved some of the slowdown
  • Verdict: Unplayable. Desire to enjoy the visual and graphical fullness of KH was unfulfilled, and under my current system's status, not worth my time.

Kitsu Saga ("KS")

  • Symptons: Ran just a tad slower than GF (being that they are similar games), but KS did require a couple hundred megahertz more than its cousin, resulting in quite a bit of slowdown on full graphics settings. Other than that, it played fine and setting graphics lower + a high-speed internet connection resulted in a pretty good time. Besides, it wasn't the graphics that attracted me to it - it was the foxes and the hope that it would be a better game than GF (but I still love GF)
  • Verdict: Very playable if you're willing to sacrifice a little bit of graphics, but you will still need a pretty stable Internet connection.

Last Chaos ("LC")

  • Symptoms: Some noticeable slowdown when the screen filled with 20 or more enemies/players, but runs smoothly with less on-screen models
  • Verdict: Tolerable, plays fine the way it is if you accept the fact you may take a few hits during a flurry

Legendary Champions ("LGC")

  • Symptoms: Kind of a mix between GF and KH - graphics aren't that great to begin with but dumbing them down didn't really seem to make a huge visual difference, but for my machine, decreased the slowdown a lot but still choppy. PVP was pretty intense even with a high speed Internet connection, but to be expected with all the pking and pwning.
  • Verdict: Somewhat playable, but a better machine would do wonders. CB was a PVP fest, OB will hopefully have less PVP orgies and a better chance to enjoy the scenery and questing with a few people.

Shaiya

  • Symptoms: Very similar performance to that of LC, but some spell casting and glowing weapons' animations slowed down when used simultaneously by multiple characters
  • Verdict: Tolerable, similar to LC

Shin Megami Tensei ("Megaten")

  • Symptoms: Too many people/enemies on screen made it choppy, and keeping up with party coordination was somewhat belated and not good for teamwork
  • Verdict: Tolerable, with some hesitance to play in coop battle. Okay if I go it alone.

Twelve Sky 2 ("12Sky2")

  • Symptoms: Smooth play for the most part, reduced graphical settings improved play and animations, but coop-play and quests with 20+ enemies were very difficult to survive
  • Verdict: Acceptable-to-near-Tolerable, actually similar to Kingdom Heroes but the simplicity of the 3-d models used probably reduced the burden on my computer

Wolf Team ("WT")

  • Symptoms: Smooth play until more than 5 people are on screen, then accuracy and movement is strained and choppy even after reducing settings.
  • Verdict: Tolerable but your kill-death ratio due to slowdown, packet loss and ping rate (broadband connection or higher is highly recommended) may suffer greatly

The Real World is Where Home Security is Needed

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Many people have starry eyed expectations and notions of what home ownership will actually be like, many of which are eventually shattered when the obligations and duties of the real world finally way down on their shoulders. Though home ownership is undoubtedly one of the most significant and enviable achievements that any person could aspire to, which is something that has never changed since the beginning of history and will remain so far as long as can be imagined, the real world is a place that mixes pleasures with burdens, joys with perils, and privileges with responsibilities. The national crime rate has gone up and insecurity is more rampant in many parts of the country than many people would have imagined would be the case a few years ago. All in all, the predicament confronting just about every home owner in the country, except those living in la-la land (which is to effectively say none), necessitates having a cutting edge home security system installed.

There is just no other way to step up and confront the challenges of the moment, and the challenges that have always been there to greet home owners, whether veteran or newbies. The protection which a good security system affords a person, their family and their home (along with all the valuable assets and investments within it) takes place in various ways, at various levels. The first level, most likely to contribute to burglary prevention for any home is the most symbolic protection of all: the logo, conspicuously displayed, of a well known and reputable home security company. The mere sight of such a logo-on window decals and yard signs, or really anywhere on your property you want-is enough to dissuade even the most skilled and experienced of crooks. Yet the protection doesn't end there, it merely starts there.

Today's systems have foiled many a burglars prime technique, which is to bypass a home security system and leave the inhabitants of a home completely unaware of the intrusion unless some visible or audible sign tips them off-something you cannot expect the criminal to afford you. The way to prevent this from happening has been achieved through the implementation of wireless security systems, which deny criminals the hard wired components necessary to carry out an effective bypass. Thanks to wireless systems, home owners can rest assured that their home alarm will always but always be on stand by, ready to trip at the sign of a break in.

Yet there is more smart technology gracing today's systems, and some of it is actually helping reduce the amount of false alarms, which are perhaps the biggest problem suffered by service customers. Infrared motion detectors, for example, have been equipped with pet detection software that help them differentiate between the guy that is going to put your life in danger and the animal that is going to come give you a big sloppy kiss in bed. That kind of ingenuity is helping the industry become ever more evolved and modern, providing more and more benefits of greater and greater relevance to customers that are more convinced than ever about the benefits of the service they are receiving.

Do You Need a 3D DVD Player to Enjoy the Full Cinematic Effects of a 3D Movie?

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

If you are into cinematic-enhanced movies, you might be wondering if you will need a 3D DVD player to enjoy a 3D movie. Since most of the movies now are turning 3D, movie-goers are encouraged to watch them in the theaters! But, you might not need a DVD player just to watch 3D movies. How is this possible? You just needed the right gadgets to help you enjoy the movie at home.

How does 3D work?

Traditionally it works by emitting light from the screen. This is best appreciated using red and blue glasses to maximize the effects. Conventional 3D movies work by using SD or Standard Definition methods.

Fast forward to the present, 3D movies now uses stereoscopic filming. Movies like Avatar and My Bloody Valentine use Digital 3D that is more detailed than conventional three dimensional movies.

You will appreciate a Digital 3D movie through High Definition TV due to its clarity.

Is it required to watch 3D movies using a 3D DVD player?

The answer is no. You can still watch 3D movies using your standard TV at home. Just get a pair of red and blue glasses and you are all set!

If you own a HDTV or a 3D DVD player, you get to enjoy a movie in 3D better. Instead of wearing colored glasses, 3D movies in HDTV is best watched using clear glasses to make the scenes 'pop-out'. It gives better results and the satisfaction might be closer to that in a cinema!

Here are some tricks to maximize your viewing pleasure:

* Heighten the brightness in your TV. If you are using standard television to watch a 3D animation, wearing those colored glasses might make the images dim. To avoid this, increase the brightness to compensate the dark shades from your glasses. This might improve the quality a bit.

* Switch off the lights: You get to experience the full cinematic effects by dimming the room. This enhances the images and projects other bright-colored scenery from the screen. It also lessens the double-vision, halo effects and improves the brightness of the effects.

* Sit closer to the television: You will get a better view and focus if you sit in front -- not on the sides. If you must, you can sit a little closer to appreciate the visuals.

So grab a good pair of red and blue glasses, pop-corn, some soda and company and enjoy a three dimensional movie today!

Display Your Images Dynamically Using a Flash Slideshow Or Flash Advanced Loader

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

A Flash Slideshow or Flash Advanced Loader allows you to make a lasting impression on visitors to your website, and since first impressions are important, this could offer you the opportunity to retain everybody that visits your website.

With the rapid increase in both the ease of creating a website, and the increased bandwidth that allows most visitors to enjoy media rich content, displaying images on a website has never been so popular or apt. If you are one of the many web developers who is looking to create a striking impression, then you need to think seriously about using either a Flash slideshow, or a Flash advanced loader or possibly both in combination.

When it comes to displaying images on the web page, for many people there seem to be only two choices, either choose just one or two images to show per page, or create a large thumbnail gallery that, effectively, displays images so small that it's not easy to even decide whether they're worth clicking. Having a single, large static image will show off your favourite image in all its glory, although being so large it may well take a while to download. On the other hand, the more images you cram on to your page, the smaller they will have to be.

Including a thumbnail gallery is a popular solution, but the trouble is that whilst you are offering a wider choice and range of images to appeal to your visitors, at the same time you are losing clarity and even, in some cases, recognisability. The images become so small and compressed that they lose their impact, and may not even be explored at their full size.

Another challenge developers face is the fact that images, at high quality at least, can take a while to load, and this waiting around can be the death of an otherwise successful website. The solution for many people may well be to use a Flash slideshow of one form or another. The beauty of a slideshow of any kind is that you can display images at good quality, in a reasonable size, and display many images to the visitor. This effectively combines the problem of both number and quality.

However, another aspect worth considering is the use of a Flash advanced loader or preloader which will allow your images to loaded quickly and smoothly. This means that your first image or two are displayed very promptly and cleanly, without appearing one block at a time. The Flash programming knows to load the first image or two right away, and then load all of the others in the background. This prevents a long wait for the visitor whilst the whole gallery is loaded sometimes the case in many alternative slideshow methods, such as Java or DHTML.

Another benefit of using something like a Flash advanced loader or a Flash preloader is that by having all of your images loaded in the background programmatically, your Flash slideshow is then able to display those images in a more dynamic way. In some cases, people have gone to a lot of trouble creating a slideshow, but the image simply flicks or snaps from one image to the next. In fact, the change is so quick, and so subtle, that it's very easy to miss. It's a little like looking at a bus stop full of people, turning away to look at the timetable, turning back and trying to decide who's missing, who's new and who has just taken their hat off.

Whilst your slideshow may be fantastic, it can be easy to miss unless it somehow manages to grab attention by itself, simply in the way that it is able to transition between images. With Flash's advanced mathematical ability, and the many downloadable Flash slideshow tools available, it is possible to incorporate an amazing array of transitions, from curling pages, exploding pixels, gradient sweeps and angled fly-ins.

Trying to achieve this kind of variety and style using any other method, such as creating GIF animations, would create file sizes so vast that it would be inappropriate to have them on the web page, they'd need to be zipped and downloaded, which of course defies the whole point of having the slideshow. By using a Flash advanced loader or preloader you're also making sure that all the hard work of downloading the images is being done smoothly and seamlessly in the background whilst your visitors are drawn by the dynamic transitions, and watch far more of the range of your images.

Since web sites are far more than simply text these days, and if a picture can paint a thousand words, a Flash slideshow can say volumes about your website, and ensuring a smooth and effective load and display of your images using a Flash advanced loader or Flash preloader you'll avoid the problem of forcing visitors to sit and wait for each image to load one at a time whilst they sit and wait for something to happen. Instead, your visitors will be engaged immediately with visually dynamic and clear content that captures and retains their interest and ensures that more of what you have to offer is both seen, and enjoyed.

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Have you started working with the latest Office Word suit? Undoubtedly it is the best productivity software in the category of document processing. However, Word 2007 crashes sometimes due to some strange Windows errors. This internal Windows corruption is the causes not only a Word 2010 crash but it also creates troubles for other computer programs and applications. Similarly the older versions do also get affected because of errors in the set up files and Windows registry.

If you are looking for ways to solve this problem then you have to start maintaining your PC and keeping it clean. It is the only way to optimize any operating system and making it stronger.

What happens with our computers is that we use a number of applications. Frequent installation of softwares, add-ons, tools and other utilities especially those tools which are embedded into the Microsoft Word 2010 crash the whole system in the worst case or make specific programs out of work or function improperly.

If your Word program is still installed and sometimes freezes or crashes then you can find a fix for this problem and work smoothly with your document processor.

For both kinds of crashing you need to repair your Windows registry which contains information about all the programs and their set ups in the form of registry keys. If there is disturbance in the Windows registry you will notice the above mentioned errors including Word 2010 crashes in your PC.

Here are some other things that you should do to fix this menacing error or else resort to paper work (Pun Intended):

* Uninstall OfficeTab 1.22 add-on if it's been installed. If the problem is still there then you can try the next tip.
* Uninstall any recently installed add-on or uninstall those add-ons which you think are causing Word to perform poorly.
* If you think that your Word 2010 crash has occurred because of downloading and then running some external document file then repair your Windows registry through a sophisticated registry repairing utility that can easily fix the file associations errors which cause programs to not open well.
* Do the registry scan also for other registry issues in your system. It is the most useful way to fix crashes as Word 2010 corrupted files are repaired by the registry cleaner software.

Fixing your Windows Registry is a highly recommended thing that you should do to find a quick and reliable fix for common PC errors and crashes.

Free Registry Scan And Fix

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

A free registry scan and fix will help to eliminate and correct any of the basic computer errors you may be having caused by the registry. I always perform a registry scan whenever I have any computer troubles. But, is a free registry scan and fix the best way to go for your computer?

You should kind of look at it this way: You get what you pay for. Now, with that said, there is some decent free registry repair software on the market. I have used one called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner in the past. Not on my own personal computer though. I did only to compare with a paid registry repair program.

When I ran the free version of the software, I only found 58 errors. I had the software fix these right away. Then, I ran the registry program I bought, and then found almost 600 errors. What a difference! I had this program fix my errors right away and it definitely sped up my computer. I now run this software at least once a week, if not twice, just to keep my computer optimized.

At work, I run the free version on computers when they have trouble. It seems to fix the minor problems, and at least keep them operating for a bit longer. If you are looking for a long term fix and solution to computer problems, such as freezing, blue screens of death, restarting for no reason, and even programs locking up, you should compare and see which one gives you the solution you need. But, you should still be able to get a free registry scan and fix for your computer.

Make Your Character Come to Life With Character Animation

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Creating your own cartoon character is a fun and exciting activity. Do you remember the time when you were a kid, when you just loved to draw cartoon characters along with the squiggles? There is no rule that you have to stop this hobby if you are still into it as you grow into an adult. If you want to engage in character animation, there are a few factors to consider. First, think of the word character. What do you want your cartoon to be all about? Imagining what your hero or heroine's character will be can help you get an initial idea and determine how your cartoon will look like. Start with the basic geometric shapes. Circles, squares and triangles are a good way to start your drawing. Then put in the details as you go along. Remember to include in your study drawings the different facial expressions of your character, like what it will look like when angry, happy or sad. Draw about five to seven initial drafts of your characters before going on to the next step.

Once you're done with your cartoon and you are satisfied with the initial sketches, then the next step is to write the script, which is the challenging part. It is important to have a script if your character animation will involve several cartoon characters and voice actors. The longer your animation feature is, the better your script will develop. It will help you in creating a solid storyboard, which is a small series of pictures and drawings of your complete animation. It will contain the highlights and important scenes of your plot. Your scenes do not have to be detailed, the basic sketches and rough drawings will do because the storyboard will just serve as your guide. You can even draw stick figures and simple geometric shapes for the background. With this, you don't have to necessarily record your audios in order.

There are several free or paid recording software available both for the Mac and PC platform. But since this is your first character animation, just go for the free or trial ones. You will also need a good quality microphone. A mic that can filter out background noise is a good choice but can be costly. Time your voice according to your animation. Or time your animation according to your voice. But it should be stressed that you should time everything. Otherwise, your animation will look like a dubbed foreign cartoon where the lips don' match the words!

Study animation various software and stick to the one that you feel most comfortable working on before looking for more advanced software. Of course you also have to consider the effects you are going to us like the background noise, music and the sound effects. Again, because you have a storyboard, you don't have to do the animation in sequence. You can go through the scenes and just arrange them when you're done. As easy as that, you can distribute copies of your animation feature. Remember to ask for feedback so that you can improve on your next project. Who knows, maybe one day you will be able to join the rank of the elite in the field of being a character animator?

How To Put Music To iPod - Easy as 1-2-3

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Unless you haven't noticed, the enormous popularity of the iPod mp3 player has made it necessary for people to learn about how to put music to iPod. Really, the process is very simple but can be a little frustrating if it's your first time. This article will give an overview of how to put music to iPod and explain exactly how it is done.

Firstly, how to put music to iPod involves two parts: Download the music from the internet or another device onto your computer, and then putting the music from there onto your iPod.

Really any music in a format like mp3 can be imported onto your iPod. There are many places on the internet that you can download music, from websites to file sharing programs such as Kazaa or Limewire. The information is transferred from the web or another persons computer, to yours where it is stored ready for you to export it to an iPod or other device. There are now even a few sites that allow the download of music and movies specifically for iPods.

The second part of how to put music to iPod is getting the data onto your iPod. This is done with the use of a program called Itunes. Itunes is a software application that comes standard when you purchase your iPod. Basically you install the program and build a library of songs in Itunes that is then easily transferred to your iPod. The Itunes software allows for the easy manipulation and organization of the music files on your computer and is the only program compatible with iPod data transfer. Connect your iPod to your computer via USB, and once you have built your library of music in Itunes it's as simple as clicking and dragging those files from there into the removable disk (USB - iPod) icon in Itunes.

As you can see, how to put music to iPod is a very simple procedure. Once you are familiar with the workings of Itunes and have a good source on the web for quickly getting the music you want, you can think of a song and be listening to it all within the space of a few minutes.

Videography Tools and Accessories

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Videography can be both a profession and a hobby. However, to generate the best results from your efforts you need the proper tools and accessories. If you are a videography hobbyist then you will need a basic set up including a camera, editing software, image storage devices, basic lighting and basic sound recording tools. On the other hand, if you are trying to pursue videography as a career then you will need a much longer list of equipment, tools and accessories in order to meet the demands and expectations of your customers and audience.

If you are interested in videography as a hobby then you can get your video set up for under ,000. You will first want to buy a good digital camcorder. Look for a camcorder that has easy to use features, a touch sensitive screen, a digital zoom, digital image steadying and night vision. Next you will want to purchase camera accessories to both enhance your films and to protect your camera. Some of the items that you may want to buy include: a padded camera case, a basic lighting set up, special effects lenses, petroleum jelly, a tripod and film or discs.

For those of you who are planning a career in videography, you will need a much more extensive inventory of video equipment, tools and accessories. In addition to a high quality digital camcorder or film camcorder, you will also want to invest in a quality lighting set up, a boom microphone, sound recording equipment, sound editing equipment, a computer, and professional video editing software like Final Cut Pro. You may also want to look into software that you can use to create special effects with.

Once you have your basic equipment, your next step will be to look for supplemental tools and accessories that you can use to improve the quality of your film productions. For example you may want to purchase royalty free music clips, stock animation clips and stock footage clips that you can use to punch up your productions. You may also want to purchase virtual sets to help improve the overall look of your scenes. Finally you may want to invest in training DVDs. These DVDs will show you how to generate special effects, how to set up special shots and how to change the mood of your scenes with lighting, music and sound effects.

Online Airplane Simulator Games Guide - Guide To The Best Flight Simulation Downloads

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Are you in the market for a flight simulator game? Does the thought of flying an aircraft get you all fired up and raring to go? Does the wide array of choices have you completely baffled? Let me assure you that this article will take away the confusion. Fly a jumbo jet, fly a regular airplane, fly a fighter plane, the choice is yours based on the level of adventure you seek.

A flight simulator game is a software that will allow you, the operator to experience through game play spacecraft flight in real space. All of these games have the element of thrill built into them and you can roll and pitch, zigzag and bank with the best of them.

You need to choose the right flight simulator game to match your flying simulation expectations and experience the buzz of real flying while you're at it. The features that you should look out for in a flight simulator game are detailed below.

Aircraft choices - look for a flight simulator game that allows you to fly different types of aircraft, the zanier the better. You can find games that have the original Wright Brothers 1903 Wright Flyer as well as the more modern planes and helicopters - now wouldn't that be cool!

Realistic flying experience - the whole purpose of getting yourself a flight simulator game is to experience the realistic thrill and sheer joy of flying, short of signing up for the air force or flying lessons. A major part of the reality of the game is that when you fly, the scenery and the weather conditions change accordingly. This makes the flying seem even more real. If you travel from America to say Hong Kong, then the sun and moon should reflect the exact time zone you are travelling in.

Scenery - choose a flight simulator game that gives you the option of full scenery complete with rivers, lakes, seas, roads and even railroads. The surrounding scenery should reflect the city you are in and when flying over urban areas you should get the right feeling with the lighting and infrastructure.

If you choose a combat game then make sure that the features include real action flying with the right scenery and night flying options.
Technology has made tremendous strides in the flight simulator game industry with enhanced animation and graphics design to provide the gamer with an outstanding three-dimensional graphical interface that makes the flying experience very near the real thing. When you see traffic moving on real looking roads, rivers flowing by and the sunlight glinting off the sea, you have to believe you actually are flying in space. Games now have the added feature of structured missions and you can choose from a list of options that will challenge your flying capabilities to the fullest extent.

You have another option with your flight simulator game - add on features like enhanced sound which will help you better understand navigating your aircraft, help you plan your destination and even training courses to fly right.

All in all flight simulator games are a great way to experience the absolute thrill of a life time with a real experience flying trip, all without the threat of a crash landing!

Design Unique and Interactive Business Cards

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

How many times it must have happened to you that you have received a business card and did not notice it?

If a professional card goes unnoticed, it has failed to make an overall impression on the mind of an onlooker. The main aim of a card is not only to provide contact details or address to the recipient or the prospective customer but also to promote the business of a company. It plays an important role in promoting the business of an organization. It acts as a forefront of the corporation in the market. Therefore, a professional card should be designed in such a way so that it creates an everlasting impression on the minds of the customers.

There are many ways to create a professional card. Designing a card with interactive features can make your card appear eclectic. You can make your corporation stand apart from the rest of the competitors as a well-designed professional card is the reflection of the company. Making a card interactive does not only mean using animated images which is feasible in case of an electronic card. It also means that you are using an interactive feature while designing a printed card. This can be done in many ways possible. For instance, you are running a business of selling wood furniture such as tables, chairs and other such things. You can choose to create a wooden color or shade of the professional card as the background. Print the contact details so that they are lucid and readable. Give a shape and appearance of a wooden ply. Another way of being creative and interactive is that you can cut out the shape of a card that of the product. For instance, if you sell household items such as a sofa set, you can cut out a card in the shape of a sofa. Vibrant colors along with the shape can make a professional card appear striking. If a person runs a chocolate industry, he can create a card more assorted by giving it a shape of a chocolate. This not reflects the creativity of the designer but also throws light on the innovative spirit of an organization.

Definitive Short Guide to Website Development Costs and Hitting That 'Sweet Spot' For Your Business

,
3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE :

Website design & development prices vary because agencies are trying to make a different level of profit, have a different level of skills and / or have a different understanding of client's requirements. It is not unheard of for an agency to quote one price at the beginning of a website development and for the costs to triple at the end.

This generally comes down to inadequate planning from the start and one of the key reasons that we always recommend putting in place adequate budget at the start of a project for initial consultancy and documentation.

Is price a true reflection of an agency's quality?

There are some good digital design agencies out there that are inexpensive and other bad agencies that are expensive (even more so because they deliver poor quality products - doubly bad value). Value does not come down to low cost, value comes down to getting what you want or need at a price that is beneficial to your business - after all, if every time you invested £1,000 into your business, it returned £2,000 - that is good value, even though you are spending £1,000. Yet, if investing £10,000 was to return £20,000, that better value even though it's more expensive!

In general, you get what you pay for and a £150 website redesign (as we have heard quoted) sounds suspiciously low. Is the work being done in the UK? Do they have a good understanding of what is required? What is the quality of their work like? For a potential client, if they have received a low quote that becomes their price 'anchor', then all additional quotes that might be in the thousands can seems like bad value, but can offer much better value when viewed from a return on invest perspective.

Perhaps a best first step is to ask for a relevant professional reference from the agency. Make sure the website design agency matches the referee's turnover levels to yours, so that you have a realistic comparison. I have been involved in created websites for SME's for under £2,000 and on the other side, websites for larger corporations with budgets over £100,000. References must therefore be carefully selected in order to provide realistic expectations.

It may be difficult to image how there can be such a difference in the cost of designing a website, but put simply, a larger budget allows more time and resources to be allocated. Many smaller businesses have 'till shock' at the initial consultancy costs for the start of a project. However, the initial consultancy stage is incredibly important, creating a stable platform for the development of:

o content

o design

o code

o delivery

Without adequate consultancy, discussion and documentation, most projects are doomed to fail. Larger projects many have week and even months allocated for initial consultation and documention.

So what is a good ballpark idea of website development costs?

The 'average' business website would have between 10 and 30 pages of content created in HTML with contact form, some search engine optimisation, easy-to-use navigation and some basic animations throughout the site to engage with visitors visually. So let's estimate the cost for a hypothetical basic 10 page website with quality design.

Consultancy & content

There should be around 5,000 words of content (500 words per page minimum) with each page targeting three specific phrases. These phrases should be researched in search engines like Google in order to accurately target the best terms for you business.

This leads to clear content guidelines for the pages plus naming conventions for the pages themselves and can take several days on its own. A larger site, one with hundreds of pages, would take longer to 'rationalise' as access to content becomes more complex, as the navigation structure must work within a 'deep' content environment.

A good ballpark for the consultancy for a 10 page website would be £1,500, broken down into:

o 1 day for project consultancy & brainstorming

o 1 day to document the projects requirements & expectations

o 0.5 day to research other sites, terms in Google

Design

The creative process is perhaps the most difficult stage to pin down in terms of time scales and costs. If the client has a clear idea of what they want from a design perspective (and can illustrate it through other example websites, print materials and/or brand 'values'), the design process becomes quicker (and therefore costs less). However, if the client is looking for the creative agency to do all the work ("just make it look nice"), then there is more time and cost on the part of the agency.

Good creative design needs time to mature and develop otherwise the resulting product can be 'shallow'. In our experience, for the average 10 page website for a small sized business, the ideal balance of cost vs. creativity is:

o 1 day to consult, information gather and brainstorm with the client

o 3 days to create design concepts

o 2 days to artwork content pages

If branding is involved, then a further three days after the consultancy stage is required, bringing the overall design process to two weeks (a rough budget of £6,000).

These are broad generalisations of the design process and businesses in general. You only need to look at the breadth of businesses in the UK, to get an idea of the breadth of potential costs associated with a website development.

Multimedia details

Once you introduce multimedia & interactive elements, costs become significantly more 'spread' because of the types of technologies involves and the relative work required to make each perform.

Flash has become a common element in websites, helping to lift the design of website page by bringing animation & interactivity to the content. It is possible to create a short 10 second intro animation for a website for a cost of £600 but does this actually add value to the website? It is doubtful.

A series of animated components distributed across various pages of the website might cost more (perhaps £1,500) and in spite of the higher cost, deliver much better value in the form of a better experience for website visitors.

Video can very quickly communicate the 'values' of an organisation, but can incur significant frontend costs in terms of the creation of the video. However, cheap video cameras and home editing software, means that it is possible to high impact create video testimonials from clients very cost effectively.

Interactive navigation provides a good, cost effective element to your site, as it is going to be used by site visitors many times and therefore becomes one of the most 'noticeable' components of the website, yet applying creative flair to the navigation should not cost much in terms of design & coding time.

HTML coding

Putting together simple HTML pages doesn't take long or cost much. A simple HTML website can be code in a day, but again, the risk to your brand can be high. How often have you visited a website and immediately gotten the impression that the website was put together by someone's "brother in law" or a student? Did you continue to investigate that business as a potential supplier? No.

So why take that risk with your own business? The small details on the webpage are obvious signposts as to the quality of HTML code that businesses are likely to recognise. A well constructed, modern website is accessible (even if at the most basic level of users being able to set the size of the print), quick to load (but with the prevalence of broadband these days, an agency would have to be making some fundamental mistakes for the site to be slow to download), use CSS (making it easier to update the design across all pages of the website from a single file) and readable in all browsers.

Writing good quality HTML code does not rely on tools such as Dreamweaver. The job of these tools is to make writing code easy - but unfortunately, this is often to the detriment of the code quality itself - so ask the agency what tools they use to create their code. If the agency is writing code from scratch, then it is likely to write better quality code and to have a better understanding of how that code works.

For our fictional 10 page website, the cost of producing quality, well constructed HTML code would cost on average £3,000

o 1 day for setup of CSS, navigation & overall page layouts

o 1 day to chop-up graphics for the pages

o 2 day to write HTML code with quality details (such as meta tags, alt tags on images, code comments)

o 1 day for testing

Setup & installation

Website hosting is cheap as chips these days. It is possible to find hosting for as little as £5 per month. However, there are costs associated with setting the account up, purchase of domain name, putting the website online & testing. These costs are likely to vary depending on the complexity of your website but again, using the 10 page HTML model website, the whole process shouldn't take more than one day.

Ongoing maintenance costs

Keeping the content on your website up-to-day is essential - absolutely critical. Research indicates that after design, the most important factor in deciding the quality of a website is how often and how recently information on that website has been updated. People return to websites that update their content often and search engines ranking sites that update content often more highly.

The consultancy process should identify the best approach for keeping content up to date - whether a content management system is recommended or if it is more cost effective to edit HTML or text files directly. This may sound like a technical process, but it doesn't need to be. A couple hours of training, especially with a website that has only ten pages, is often all that is needed to put you in the driving seat - saving you on development & implementation costs.

Overview

The overall cost for a professional, quality 10 page website constructed in HTML can be broken down as follows:

Consultancy £1,500

Design £6,000

Programming £3,000

Setup & installation £600

Ongoing maintenance DIY and pay nothing!

Inevitably, the quality of your website and its business performance will be reflected in its price, but this does not mean that more expensive is necessarily better. We often hear of companies charging many £10,000's of points for websites that can obviously be created for much less.

Larger agencies have higher overhead costs and work on larger margins than smaller agencies. There is a sweet spot in terms of website development cost that is unique to you, so make sure you get at the very least three quotes for your project (and ensure that all the website design agencies has the same understanding of your requirements), but ideally try to target five quotes, from around the country.
